About WHS
Work Health and Safety (WHS) is also sometimes known as Occupational health and safety (OH&S) which includes the management of risks to health and safety of everyone at Navitas such as health and safety for students, employees and visitors as well.
WHS legislation
There are numerous laws and regulations established and implemented to improve the work health and safety at workplace. Most popular are Occupational Health and Safety Act 1996 and Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
WHS at Navitas
For Navitas ,the health and safety of employee, students and visitors is at priority. The sole purpose of WHS is to foster and maintain a healthy ans safe workplace environment and for anyone that is affected at workplace.These involves providing training, information and supervision to employees to enable them to perform work safety and without any hazard or risk.
On the other hand, employees at Navitas are probable to take responsibility of their own health and safety and also need to cooperate with employer for complying with requirements imposed by legislation, regulations or code of conduct.
WHS Policy at Navitas
Navitas has WHS policy which has sole purpose to establish and maintain health and safety of employees and workplaces by:
a) Eliminating and minimizing the risks arising from work to protect employees and persons against their health and safety.
b) Provide good and effective workplace co-operation, consultation, representation and issue resolution related to work health and safety.
c) promoting the provision of advice, information, education and training in relation to work health and safety
d) providing a framework for continuous improvement.
WHS is introduced upon entry to the organization through training and inductions, and further managed through consultations and by highlighting the responsibilities of the employer, managers, and employees.
